Interracial dating. Pls read and respond if you could?

My best friend who happens to be black likes this Russian girl who migrated to the states a couple of years ago. He is afraid to ask her out due his preconceived ideas about Russians being racist and all that Jazz. She attends the same school he attends. What should I tell him? I am not that great with women, so I don't know what to tell him

Tell your friend to ask the girl out if he wants to go out with her. Racial boundaries are falling every day, and that's not a bad thing.

He shouldn't be concerned because Russians are "racist" ... that's painting with too broad a brush. Some Blacks are racist, some whites are racist, some Russians are racist, some Japanese are racist ... some of "everything" are racist.

The girl may go out with him or she may not. Her reason may be racial ... but it may be because she actually likes/dislikes your friend.

The key thing here is: Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

He has nothing to lose, does he? Tell him to go for it.

Well, first of all he should NOT try talking to the person. They MAY just find out they have some things in common. Also, tell him that we don't live in the 1960's anymore and you can date whoever the hell you want!

The issue isn't so much RACE as a problem, but of SOCIAL CLASS, family values and lifestyle.

Is your friend from a GOOD family, where both MOM and DAD are married and in the home have good jobs? Is the Russian girl from a two parent family? Are both sets of parents equally educated, have middle class attitudes and given their children good solid values?

If your friend is "ghetto" then the Russian girl should NOT hang out with him. Her culture has nothing in common with ghetto trash.

The girl would ALSO have nothing in common with the son of a Hell's Angel biker that deals in meth on the side. See, race has nothing to do with who is date bait and who isn't!

If your friend is the son of an accomplished doctor or attorney or other educated professional and the Russian girl is from an equally educated goal oriented middle class family, then there would be a basis for a relationship.

Look at the SOCIAL CLASS of the families, the EDUCATIONAL backgrounds of the parents. Do not look at color!

Do both your friend and the girl he likes get good grades? There they have something in common. DO they both value education and value the importance of finishing highschool and going to college or learning a trade?

If he's ghetto/hip-hop trash, lives a ghetto lifestyle and she doesn't, then her parents would have every right to object to him showing interest in their daughter. Any reasonable parent of ANY color wouldn't want their daughter associating with such a young man! And any reasonable girl wouldn't think of hanging out with such a guy!
