Why do white women dislike dating east asian american men or pacific islander?
I lived in West Coast and Hawaii for many years, and found many white women date asian american men. As i move toward the midwest (chicago) and east coast (new york city), i find majority white women dislike dating asian amercian men. Its really funny
i'm an equal opportunity dater, and have gone out with women of many ethnicities. we treat each other as regular people and tend to get along that way. in some cases, rejection may not have anything to do with race. do these women ever say why? do they tell you "i'm not into asians?" what's a guy (or girl) supposed to do when he/she hears that?
jasumi is absolutely right about one dimensional media portrayals of asian men. any stereotype is hurtful, and for asians, they range from being an honors student to the violent alcoholic. but how attractive is a person who believes and projects stereotypes onto you?
even if i wasn't an asian male, i would question the integrity and character of a person who has some kind of racial or culturized stigma against dating asians or any other ethnicity for that matter. modern racism is subtle, unconscious, and underhanded. the days of jim crow are gone.

It isn't really funny. If you don't know why you are turned down - particularly when you are decent and respectable, it's no laughing matter.
It's mostly based on local customs and familiarity. Living in a community where Pacific Island faces are rare, a Hawaiian could seem a novelty or strange, but not so strange among the Inuit. White people are stared at and not dated too often by tribal people in Africa because white people look ghostly. And there are the mothers who hope to have grandchildren who look like themselves. Your mother very likely feels the same.
It is the background of much anguish in mixed communities, especially if one is well-traveled and used to an agreeable internationalism.
Perhaps the problem is due to most Asian men are taught to stay within their own race. It isn't that white women dislike dating Asian men, it's simply that there aren't many available. Thank you.

The media portrays them as unattractive and one dimensional. What woman would be attracted to that? I personally think Asian men are very handsome. And I have noticed that Asian men are encouraged to date other Asians, whereas Asian women aren't so much. Strange, isn't it?
You shouldn't generalize, not all women dislike dating east asian american men, only some do. Just like some women like only dating east asian american men.
