I presume by foreigners you mean " western/white people". Am I right?
1) Western guys who go to the Philippines do not discriminate by class. In most of our countries we are taught that class is no longer important and you can move up by working hard. Hence we date just average ladies- waitresses, cooks, working students- normal, rank-and-file people. We have MA degrees and engineering degrees and we will usually date even people who did not finish high school. We normally don't care. Many guys do not even care if the girl had been a hooker. We just rarely discriminate.
2) We like the Malay type of face- it is so exotic to us and so--o-o sexy. We think a girl with brown skin and a flat nose and big Malay eyes is a sex goddess. Because she is the opposite of what we look like. Opposites attract.We also like small girls because they make us feel macho and strong.
So, you see Western guys with short, brown, flat nosed poor girls for the above reasons. They look gorgeous to us from our cultural perspective, but they do not look too hot from the Filipino society's point of view. Filipinos like tall white skinned Spanish mestiza types. But in our societies, such tall Mexican-looking girls are dime a dozen. Why would we go to the Philippines to find someone who looks like a Mexican?
So, you have a perception difference. What is cheap and poor looking " baduy" to you, is an exotic tropical fruit to us.
Now as far as women go:
1) Women marry up, men marry down. Most Filipino guys are short by Western standards- average is 5' 4"- 5'5" . They also have very small salaries . Why would say, a British woman marry a short, poor Asian guy? Or travel to a far away country on the other side of the globe, spend money on airplanes and hotels to end up with a guy who would often look ridiculous back home by her side?
Do Filipina women fly to Bangladesh and Somalia to look for husbands?
2) Some Western women have trickled to the Philippines but they are very rare there. Anyone who for any reason can catch one will not necessarily be an average guy. Either a bit tall, or handsome or rich, but not your short waiter at a local noodle shop.Not a tricycle driver. Hence, the couple emanates "specialness' when it is in public.
Because you look nice, I shall make an exception and answer seriously.
There is an underlying envy and prejudice in this perception by most of the local crowd.
And yet I cannot, myself, pronounce ill judgment of these opinions. I, myself, am not immune to the sense of perpetuation of the social mores I grew up with. Having to do with preservation of the family and social values.
A Filipina dating a foreigner means chances are she will marry the foreigner and live abroad, thus breaking the continuity of familial ties. A Filipino, on the other hand, is bound to take in the foreign girl, and thus not only maintain the family line in the land, but increase the family as well.
Because people are narrow and judge a relationship based on race.
Seriously, because Filipinos are poor. A Filipina dating a white man would be presumed to be exploited or have sold herself. A Filipino dating a white woman is presumed to have a secret stash of wealth or, despite his much-condemned appearance (short, dark, etc) a really grand lover to be able to keep her.
Last, do you think a Filipino man dating an Arab woman or an African woman would be considered cool? These sorts of judgments tend to privilege only white Americans or white Europeans. Interestingly, I bet a Filipina would be considered cheap or desperate no matter the nationality of the foreigner.
Its your opinion... I only see filipino men with "foreigners" in my country never in the Philippines, btw I got a story from my last time in Cebu City, I was in Robinson with my wife drinking a latte at the entrance floor. A pinay (25-30) is sitting with a westerner , not so old, maybe under 40 and not fat and balding. They are smiling against eachother and he is holding her hand across the table, the girl strikes up a conversation with a waitress and my wife goes to get a napkin. When she comes back she tells me that during the casual conversation between the waitress and the girl (in visaya) the girl comments on the man "may God strike this creep dead". So thats a reason pinays sometimes look cheap to me, no matter how good actress they are , the leechery always shines through.
I strongly disagree with this statement. Most pinoy men are disgusting and ignorant with the smell of smokes and alcohol on their breath and clothing. Few present themselves nicely. The pinay woman however are great on the internet at dating guys, you often see them chatting to many men and managing to get money of them quiet often. It's actually quiet interesting to see this. Pinay women are the best as looking good on the internet.
i understand what you mean. i dont mean to be rude to the filipinos, but honestly, we know how the majority of them think about this. if the most reason for the filipinas to date or get married to foreigners is about financial matters, it's still okay for me.. because filipinas reciprocate it with real care and true love.

I'm a Filipina, I dated both Filipinos and other races. One thing I noticed, most of the Filipinos I dated here in the US are either airheads, jerks, cheaters or have way too much drama in their life than I do and I don't think a woman needs that. You would think that because they're Filipinos that they they would know how to treat a woman with respect, unfortunately not. The foreigners actually treated me a lot better than the Filipinos did, so why would I put up with the headache? And for that reason I look effin cheap?! Girl Please!!!

How does it look in America when many white women date the successful black men, especailly the sports stars? Probably because all they really want is a man who can provide for them. And we all know if we tell people don't do this or that. Most likely they end up doing this or that, because curiousity tells us to taste and see for ourselves.
Women are very teachable, they love who their men love and hate who their men hate. But some are brave!!!
Why do many women become prostitutes? Because their drive to survive causes them to sale themselves. Ignoring the pain in order to have something in life.. ...and they, no matter their race, look cheap! But are they cheap? I'm sure they would do better if there were a better way (in their minds).
Meanwhile "we" call them what they are instead of what they could be. We judge them in their pain and hurt, which life pushes on them. But who or what is cheaper? The Philipino men who chooses to date whom he wishes or the philipino women who does the same, Or the Persons who judges those who lives their own lives, without realizing we are all related.
I am sorry but I do not agree with your premise, even if this may be the opinion of the majority. Personally, I think being cool or uncool/cheap does not have anything to do with who we are dating, and from what part of the world they come from.
For instance, if a daughter or granddaughter of Danding Cojuangco were to date a foreigner, would you say that she is cheap?

It's pretty rare to see a filipino guy dating a foreigner. Or atleast I haven't seen that yet. But you do see so many girls with foreigners it's not funny. You know how filipino's are about some certain things. They have alot of face and if they can show off then they will do it. It's just the way things are.
It is your perception. Filipino men here in the U.S. are dating both white and Filipino girls. And neither pair is labeled cheap or cool. My son is married to white girl and my daughter is married to a half-Filipino half-Mexican American. So what it is that concerns you and others I could not fathom.

I am married to a Filipino woman. And we have a large age difference. My wife has more class in her little finger than any American woman I have ever dated.
We are proud to stand next to each other out in public. Both in the Philippines and here in America. We walk hand in hand. Anyone that looks down on us, do not know us as a couple.
We have found that those type of people are most often hiding from their secrets or indiscretions. They can take a loooooonngg walk on a very short peir.

i dont think thats true. I never thought of it that way. I was raised in US and i met my husband (he's irish and german) when I was 19yrs old in US. We're the same age. I dont think thats cheap. We met at school when we were both going to college in New Jersey. We are both professionals now. He's an RN and I am a Respiratory therapist.Do you consider that cheap? Just because we fell inlove? Although when he went to the Philippines for the first time people were actually asking me how I met him because we were the same age. They were shocked that he wasnt so much older than me.

I was in the Navy for 11 years and saw quite a few Filipino women with my fellow sailors. I was just happy for them that they'd found someone to enjoy life with!
With the exceptions of others of course. There are really pairs that are nice to look at. And there are not so nice. Frankly I don't give that much attention. I consider them lucky for they have found a nice partner in life.

Asian men are the most UNWANTED in the world, so 2 be able 2 pull off a foreigner is probably impressive to most people. Alot of Americans think Asian women are only out 4 money cause of movies & all those websites.
